The "Buzz" on Fulce

There have already been rumblings on the message board about "surprise" recruit Joseph Fulce.

Here's his odyssey:

- Recruited to Texas A&M by then Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator Buzz Williams

- Signed to an LOI by UNO Head Coach Buzz Williams

- In July, Buzz Williams was named assistant coach at Marquette.

Coincidence? Probably not.

I don't know a lot about Fulce yet. But for Buzz Williams to stake his coaching and recruting reputation on him not once, not twice, but three times says a lot about the faith that Williams must have in his abilities.

What does this say about MU's chances of getting Swopshire?

How long ago was this commitment made?

I am an 04 MU alumni and I grew up in Plano, TX (I went to Jesuit College Prep). I cannot believe that Plano, TX produced a good bball player. For god sakes I was the starting point guard for my middle school team that was city champs, and I sucked. Granted it was middle school, but people are recruited out of middle school now a days. Plano is exactly like Brookfield, WI, enough said. I have no idea how good this guy can be.

I don't think it is coincidence that this was announced on the heels of Shumpert to GT. Apparently this was the plan B press release for yesterday.

Unfortunately, I think thats the best thing to do.

And this does what to Swopshire's recruiting?

The Plan "Bs" seem knee-jerk to me.

TC is said to stress the importance of team chemistry, in fact it is the reason given for some recruits not being offered a scholarship. What contact has Fulce had with team members? There is no known issue with the student/athlete but rather the timing of the offer.

Jimmy King was an all-american. This Fulce guy is not. He wasn't even the best player on his high school team. I'm sick of MU not being able to bring in the top high school kids.

Don't worry... we'll find a reason not to let this kid in school if we can find a better commit before next year. (See: Saunders)
