Marquette Media Update

Good morning MU fans.....here's a quick look at a few tidbits about your nationally ranked Golden Eagles:

MU hosts the annual Blue and Gold Fund Classic this weekend at the Bradley Center. MarquetteHoops has a curtain-raiser here.

If you are a resident of Richmond, Indiana you are in luck. Citing a 'huge response' from last season's broadcasts, WKBV will carry 15 of Marquette's remaining 22 regular-season games.

BTW, in case you missed it, Steve Novak earned his first NBA start last night for the Houston Rockets, which fell at Phoenix. Novak finished with six points in 19 minutes of action. Congratulations, Steve!

Finally, after digesting the first few weeks of the season SLAM magazine ranks MU in its inaugural top 10.

SLAM seems like a nice site. Good analysis on the top ten. And some actual love for Marquette.

6) Marquette (6-0) - This team is ranked too low everywhere and blame it on the lack of an upperclassman with name recognition. But Dominic James is getting there.

The best Golden Eagle since D-Wade was briefly my favorite player in college basketball when he helped take out Duke last Tuesday. What was the last young Big East team to look this good this early? The 2002-2003 Carmelo-headed Syracuse Orange. I hope you remember how that ended up.

What a fun read!
