23 minutes of Buzz

This clip comes from Dennis Krause's show on Time Warner Sports Channel in Milwaukee .. for the many who aren't in the area. The first couple segments aren't too fascinating, but you get a pretty good feeling for who Buzz is in the remaining half.

Enjoy:

great show first time seeing the interview, I get a good feel about Buzz much like the Crean hire my take is he is more humble than Crean lets hope he can taks us foward. At first I was taken back by the hire maybe because of the lack of knowledge but Crean knew something when he hired Buzz and was said to have made him his top assistant, if Marquette didn't offer I bet he ends up in Indiana. As far as the unknow think back about a school named Belmont Abbey and a man named McGuire, you can never compare the men but at least give him his due and support. There have been some positives in a short time, seems to have put together a good staff and Marquette is being considered by some top level kids not bad for new coach of some 30+ days.

Crean didn't "know something" when he hired Williams. He hardly knew him. The only thing he knew is that he needed a lead assistant and Buzz Williams had been writing him letters. And Williams took the assistant job at MU because it paid more -- $50K more, in fact. This job fell into Williams lap because of the incompetence of the athletics administration at Marquette.

If anything, that interview makes you wonder even more why he was hired. He's not exactly a dynamic personality. But apparently he was such a fantastic interviewer that MU just HAD to hire him.

This hire makes no sense at all.

From one Richard to another, you make no sense at all, Dick. What's done is done. And to think that Crean hired Williams only because he received letters from him is beyond absurd.

How about we wait until the season starts to judge Buzz now that the hire has been made?

I really enjoyed this interview, thanks Hilltopper for putting it up here!

I don't know what it is, but Buzz makes himself easy to like. I really wish him and his new staff the best. Like many I still question the hire, but I am really starting to believe in this guy. Go get 'em Buzz!
