Congratulations to Coach Mitchell, Quaye, Ellis

Lost in all the hoopla over MU's men's basketball GameDay festivities and ensuing victory over Pittsburgh are some noteworthy accomplishments from by the MU women's team.

First, congratulations are in order for Coach Terri Mitchell, who has won the Big East Coach of the Year award for her efforts guiding the Golden Eagles to a 24-5 record overall, MU women's highest ever national ranking, and a tie for 2nd place with a12-4 record and first round bye in the Big East conference tournament.

Coach Mitchell wasn't the only honoree--Krystall Ellis and Christina Quaye were named to the ALL-BIG EAST First Team. No MU player made the second, honorable mention, or All-Freshman teams.

Congratulations, ladies. Marquette will play at 7:00 this evening against Pittsburgh, who earned the right to face MU by beating Cincy in their first round game yesterday.
