New Scout.com Top 100 for 2008

Per IWB on Marquette Hoops, Scout.com's updated top 100 for the class of 2008 is out. A few highlights on MU targets:

  • Iman Shumpert is #15
  • Matt Humphrey is #59
  • Quintrell Thomas is #69
  • Rotnei Clark is #78
  • Nick Williams is #90 (verbal)
MU is not mentioned with Chicago big man Michael Dunigan (that's disappointing) or Willie Warren (MU has enough 2Gs in the mix anyway). JaMychal Green - - adios.

MU target Maurice Sutton does not appear on the list -- methinks he squeezes out a spot on the list when its updated later this year. Other MU targets including SF Luke Fabrizius, PG Jordan Theodore, SG Max Kenyi, and SG Colin Chieverton also landed outside of the top 100.

While I love Scout's coverage, they are notoriously slow in updating the school lists on profiles. I think Marquette is still recruiting Willie Warren, even though it's probably a super long shot. Another name to look out for is Renaldo Woolridge, a 6'8 combo forward and son of former ND great Orlando Woolridge. Also, we were recently listed in the top four of Philip McDonald, a 6'4 two guard ranked in the same range as Nick Williams.

Pretty optomistic to think that Maurice Sutton would have consideration for future versions of Telep's Top 100 when Dave just updated the position rankings and has Sutton rated as the 38th ranked center in the Class of 2008.

Josh Crittle (21st) and Stan Simpson (22nd) are MU targets who seem more likely than Sutton to break into Telep's Top 100 as 20th rated center Victor Davila is 99th overall.
